How a few drafty attics turned into a business
I got into insulation by fixing drafty rooms and attics for neighbors in Reno on weekends. The calls kept coming, so in 2023 I made it full time and started EnergySense Reno Spray Foam Insulation. I learned the trade on those jobs, reading up and asking a lot of questions, and I still like a house that doesn't make sense at first.
Most people who call us live in Reno or the cities around it and are tired of a cold back bedroom, a hot upstairs or a power bill that keeps climbing. A few building managers call too. I care that your money goes where it changes how the house feels, and by the time we leave, I want your house to make sense to you.
What you can expect when we work on your house
We find where the heat goes before adding anything
Before any new insulation goes in, we look for where your house is losing heat, like gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch, or eave vents that got buried. That way your money goes to the fix that changes how the room feels, not to another layer over the same draft.
You talk to me at the estimate
I come out to look at every job myself and explain what I see in plain words, and a small crew I work alongside does the install. If a roof fix or a wiring check should come first, I'll tell you, even when that means our work waits.
Problems and permits come up before work starts
We look for what can stall a job, like old wiring, damp spots, odd old insulation and gas appliances, so you hear about them at the estimate instead of halfway through. We also check which city or county office covers your address, and when the job needs a permit we take care of applying for it before any work begins.
